This was recorded recently in north London with Jonathan Shakhovskoy (U2, Crowded House). We had a blast making it and I'm really happy with how it turned out.

Who is Harry Nilsson?

I discovered the great American singer-songwriter Harry Nilsson this week. It's amazing when you can put a name to songs that you know so well, I didn't realise I knew so many of his songs! Now I do and I can't stop covering them. He has a great voice and his melodies are out of this world.

Even better than the real thing?

Had an evening out with Sarah Blasko in central London last night talking about her songwriting influences and plans for the future.

Found out Sarah contributed a song for an album of Neil Finn covers called She Will Have Her Way, and now I find myself googling old Neil Finn acoustic shows.

It's great stuff, here's one of the best:

LA songwriting

I'm really liking the new site I had built for me, so I'm gonna try my best to update this blog on a regular basis.

So. I've been in LA a couple of times recently. I was out there songwriting with a few high-profile Sony and Sanctuary artists. I really enjoyed it and can't wait to get back there again.

I found LA a really creative place. A little bit plastic, but lots of sunshine and great musicians, which suits me fine.

Wrote a few songs of my own while I was there. I've already demoed one of them called Sunset Rush - you can hear it one the music player on my new facebook page

I'll keep you posted if any of the songs I co-write get cut on any records or films.

New website is live

If you haven't already noticed, the website has a had a redesign recently. A big shout out to Tom and Chris in Venice Beach, LA for all their work.
